Southern District prosecutors have prepared indictments against 22 Hamas operatives for their roles in the October 7, 2023, attack on Kibbutz Nir Oz, Ynet reported Monday.
The charges have been presented to Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara, with prosecutors also urging the Knesset to advance nine legislative amendments needed to bring the suspects to trial, according to the report.
Authorities plan to consolidate the cases into a single indictment covering the hundreds of terrorists involved in the massacre, streamlining legal proceedings.
The October 7 assault on southern Israel saw Hamas militants kill approximately 1,200 people and take 253 hostages, with Kibbutz Nir Oz among the hardest-hit communities. The move to prosecute the attackers comes as Israel continues its military campaign in Gaza, now in its eighth month.
