CAIRO, Egypt — Yemen’s Houthi rebels claim that the U.S. military conducted a series of airstrikes targeting the capital, Sanaa, and the Red Sea port city of Hodeida, both under Houthi control. The reported strikes come less than 48 hours after a U.S. attack destroyed a Red Sea port facility, killing over 70 people.
According to the Houthi media office, 13 U.S. airstrikes struck an airport and the port in Hodeida, a strategic hub on the Red Sea. Additional strikes were reported in Sanaa, though details remain unclear.
No immediate reports of casualties have emerged from the latest attacks.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), which oversees American military operations in the Middle East, has not yet responded to requests for comment.
