MIAMI, Florida — A mass shooting at Florida State University (FSU) left two people dead and five others wounded late today, with authorities identifying the gunman as the son of a local law enforcement officer, police confirmed.
The shooter, whose father is a local law enforcement official was hospitalized after the attack, FSU Police Chief Jason Trumbower said.
The campus was placed on lockdown immediately as police responded to reports of multiple gunshots near the school premises. Two people killed, five hospitalized with gunshot wounds (conditions unknown).

-“We heard four or five shots, then people started screaming,” said eyewitness, name withheld, an FSU student. Students barricaded inside classrooms as SWAT teams swept buildings. University alerts urged students to “Run, Hide, Fight” during the active threat.
